Lillie Helm
Fort Towson Enterprise – September 15, 1916 – transcribed by Ron Henson
Mrs. C.L. Helms Dies In Hugo
Mrs. Lillie Helm, the wife of C.L. Helms, died at 4 o’clock Tuesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bert Billings, in Hugo, where she had been taken a few days previous. She had been an invalid for nearly a year before her death and spent several weeks in a hospital at Paris. During her illness she was operated on three times, but did not obtain more than temporary relief.
She was forty six years old and was the daughter of I.N. Secrest, a well known resident of Reno, Texas, where she spent most of her life. Besides her husband she is survived by four children, two sons and two daughters, all grown. Both of the daughters are married. Both of her parents and ten brothers and sisters survive her. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon and her remains laid to rest in the cemetery at Hugo.
