Mrs. M.A. Yarbrough
Fort Towson Enterprise – August 25, 1916 – transcribed by Ron Henson

Mrs. M.A. Yarbrough, of Caviness, Texas, died very suddenly Wednesday afternoon. Mrs Hazelwood and some of her children left immediately to attend the funeral, but on account of sickness Mrs. Gus Ashley could not go. Mrs. Yarbrough lived here a number of years and was beloved by all who knew her, who deeply sympathize with the bereaved.

Obituary
On the 15th day of August 1916, the death angel reached down and took from our midst Mrs. M.A. Yarbrough. She was born in Alabama in 1853, thus making her stay here upon earth 63 years. She leaves a husband, six children, 22 grandchildren, a number of other relatives and a host of friends to mourn her loss. We know she will be greatly missed, because everyone who knew her loved her; she was kind to everybody, a devoted wife, kind and loving mother and a good neighbor.
The deceased was sick only a few days, and bore her sufferings with smiles and much patience. While she was passing away she called all present to her bedside and although she could not speak, looked on each one and smiled as if to say “All is well.” She has lived a true Christian life for many years and while we do greatly miss her we are conscious that God doeth all things well, and that her death is only another link that unites our hand on earth with those who have gone on before.
The remains were laid to rest in Caviness cemetery to await the great resurrection morning. There were a large crowd of relatives and friends present at the funeral and many beautiful wreaths of flowers were brought by friends and placed on the grave, which proved a token of friendship and respect.
Now, while we do deeply sympathize with this grief-stricken family, we can only say, look up dear ones, let’s be submissive to God’s will, for it won’t be long until the Pearly Gates will unfold. If we live true to God, then we shall be with out dear loved ones forever.
    A Friend
