B.F. Gilbert
The Fort Towson Enterprise – May 18, 1917 – transcribed by Ron Henson
Aged Citizen Passes Away
At the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fannie Chewnling, of this city, B.F. Gilbert passed away Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the ripe old age of 77 years, after an illness of about fifteen months. He has been a resident of the town about five years and had the confidence and esteem of all who knew him. He is survived by his aged wife, one daughter and two sons living in Texas, one of whom arrived on the morning train Thursday to attend the funeral which was conducted by Rev. Gross at the house, and the remains were laid to rest in Doakesville cemetery. The Enterprise extends heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family and friends.
