R. F. "Bob" Shirley, 79, of Hugo died Saturday, Dec. 30, 1995, at Rose Haven Health Care Center. Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan 2, at Lampton-Mills and Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with Bill O'Neal, pastor of the Detroit Church of Christ in Detroit, Texas, officiating. Burial was in Mt Olivet Cemetery. Mr. Shirley was born March 26, 1916, in Cotton County, Okla., to Weeden Christopher and Emma Alice Beaty Shirley. He married Velma Elizabeth Hutchings July 12, 1938. He was a retired self-employed mechanic. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Donna Callaway and Alice Raper, both of Hugo; two brothers, Joe Shirley of Clear Lake, Texas and Jim Shirley of Mansfield, Texas; one sister Frances Thurber of Temple Terrace, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
