Pioneer Ft Towson Woman Succumbs

Mrs. Wm. Hightower, wife of Dr. Wm. Hightower, of Fort Towson, died at the family home there Wednesday evening, February 6. Burial was made in Mount Olivet cemetery at Hugo.
Mrs. Hightower, formerly was Miss McDougal, her first husband, a man by the name of Cook, died several years ago, and for the past twenty years she has been married to Dr. Hightower. The couple has lived in Ft. Towson for the past fifteen years. Mrs. Hightower was about 50 years of age at the time of her death.
At supper time Wednesday night she appeared in good health. Dr. Hightower decided to go to the show. When he returned  his wife was complaining and she kept getting worse, a physician was called but medical aid was in vain as she died about 11 o'clock. Acute indigestion was given as the cause of the death.
Surviving relatives are Dr. Hightower, a daughter, Mrs. Essie Cook Windham, of Coleman, Texas, and a granddaughter, Mary Ann Windham.
