Harold Lamb

     Graveside services for Harold Lamb of Messer were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2003, in Goodland Cemetery with Rev. Darren Loudermilk officiating.
     Mr. Lamb died Sunday, December 7, 2003, in Hugo. He was 72.
     Harold Lamb was born November 3, 1931, in Cushing, Oklahoma, the son of Ira & Inez ÒDuffeyÓ Lamb. He married Barbara Lamb on March 14, 1950, in Cushing, Oklahoma, and she preceded him in death on March 26, 1996. He had lived in Waco, Texas, for eleven years before moving to Alvarado, where he lived until moving to the Hugo area about 12 years ago. He worked as a dairy farmer for many years and served in the U.S. Army. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers: Lee & Melvin; and one sister: Betty.
     Surviving relatives: 4 sons & daughters-in-law: Carl & Janet Lamb of Mansfield, Texas, Mike & Delores Lamb of Alvarado, Texas, Gene & Debbie Lamb of Alvarado, Texas, Kenneth & Opal Lamb of Allen, Texas; 1 brother: Charles Lamb of California; 1 sister: Patsy of Kansas; several nieces & nephews; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; good friend & neighbor: Angie Davidson of Messer, Okla.

Floyd Allen Trantham

     Funeral services for Floyd Allen Trantham of Hugo were held at 10 a.m. Monday, December 8, 2003, at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bennie Hammons officiating. Interment was in Grant Cemetery in Grant, Okla.
     Mr. Trantham died Thursday, December 4, 2003, in Hugo. He was 91.
Floyd was born on July 10, 1912, in Detroit, Texas, to C.P. and Rosella (Grey) Trantham. He married Juanita Crain on June 28, 1938, in Hugo, Okla. Floyd had lived in this area for 57 years after moving here from Texas. He was self-employed as a welder and had worked for Hugo Milling Company. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Juanita in 1997, one son, James Allen Trantham, two daughters, Fodella Hendrix and Mary Trantham, and six grandchildren.
     Floyd is survived by his five sons, Carol Trantham of Athens, Texas, Loyd Wayne Trantham of Fort Towson, Earl Trantham of Tulsa, Michael Trantham of Hugo, and Kenneth Trantham of Tyler, Texas; two daughters, Gloria Obert of Paris, Texas, and Jenita Smith of Grand Prairie, Texas; four brothers, J.W. Trantham of Grant, Dan Trantham of Kenefic, Willie Joe Trantham of Arizona, and James Trantham of Arkansas; one sister, Ester Roger of Locust Grove, Okla.; 16 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

Annie Quillin

     Funeral services for Annie Quillin, 102, of Oklahoma City and formerly of the Oak Grove Community, are pending with Rogan Funeral Home. Mrs. Quillin died December 8, 2003, in Oklahoma City.


John Shirley

     Funeral services for John Shirley of Sawyer will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 11, 2003, at Corinth Baptist Church with Rev. Bennie Hammons officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Towson Cemetery.
     Mr. Shirley died December 7, 2003, at Choctaw Memorial Hospital in Hugo. He was 85.
John was born May 23, 1918, the son of Franklin Morrison Shirley and Leah Elizabeth (Sanders) Shirley, and had lived most of his life in the Sawyer area. He worked for the city of Guymon for 20 years. He also was a heavy equipment operator. He was preceded in death by his parents, also preceded in death by his sons, John Wesley Shirley and Billie Cecil Shirley; a daughter, Agnes Leah Israel; his brothers, Elmer Shirley, Fred Shirley and Cecil Shirley; and his sisters, Jewel Sanders and Joyce Piearcy.
     Surviving relatives: His wife, Lois Shirley; two sons, William Cecil Shirley of Clarksville, N.H., Albert Louis Shirley of Sawyer; one daughter, Robbie Lynn Muckle of Blenheim, Ontario, Canada; one adopted daughter, Kim Chancellor of Sawyer; 24 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
     The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2003, at the funeral home.

Inez Fay Smith

     Funeral services for Inez Fay Smith of Antlers were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2003, at Hall Baptist Church in the Hall Community. Interment was in Antlers City Cemetery in Antlers, Okla.
     Mrs. Smith died Monday, December 8, 2003, in Antlers. She was 79.
     Inez was born February 8, 1924, in Jumbo, the daughter of Mack and Hattie (Impson) Redden. She married Carl C. Smith in Paris, Texas, on November 8, 1946. Inez was a member of the Hall Baptist Church. She worked as a secretary for the Oklahoma Extension Office where she retired. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, John D. Redden and two sisters, Irene Hill and Cloe Walla. Inez is survived by her husband, Carl C. Smith of Antlers, Okla.; one brother, Bill Redden and a special niece, Lilla Boatwright.
     Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Antlers, Okla., are in charge of arrangements.
