Pioneer Died Monday Evening at His Residence

James Henry Wright, 72, retired lumberman and pioneer resident of Hugo, died Monday evening at his home following an extended illness.
For many years Mr Wright was a lumber manufacturer, operating large mills in the old Indian Territory and in Arkansas before and after settling in Hugo. For some years he was interested in a number of lumber yards. He built several of the city's business buildings and a number of residences. At various times he was connected with banking and mercantile enterprises. Mr Wright was a member of the county commissioners court that built the Choctaw county courthouse and for many years was a member of the board of education. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Mr Wright is survived by his wife, three sons, Sidney Wright of Fort Smith, Ark; Harry Wright and Richard Wright of Hugo; a daughter, Mrs A B Griffing of Dallas; two brothers, R R Wright of Kingland, Ark; and A J Wright of Hugo; and a grandson James Ross Griffing of Dallas.
Funeral services were conducted at 3 pm Tuesday, at the residence, by the Rev Ernerst Hicks, pastor of the First Methodist Church. Burial was in Mt Olivet cemetery.
Pallbearers were E Moore, Norman Leard, J H Huss, Dave Glenn, Dave Thomas, E A Blythe, H G Wallace, Mr Shull and S M Kizzire.
Snow Funeral Home had charge of funeral arrangements.
