CHARLES WHEELER
The Hugo Daily News September 29, 1988 --- contributed by Teresa Young

    Charles Ray Wheeler, a resident of Hugo, died Tuesday. He was 28.
    Wheeler was a heavy equipment operator and construction worker by occupation. He had lived in the Hugo area all of his life.
    Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Wheeler of the home; a daughter, Patricia Wheeler of the home; his parents: Mr. and Mrs. Frankie Wheeler of Hugo; two brothers: Victor Smith of Hugo and Frankie Lee Wheeler of Sugarland, Texas; two sisters: Judy Thomas of Kingston, Okla. and Diane McKee of Moultrie, Ga.; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Bessie Parker and several nieces and nephews.
    Services will be Friday at 4 p.m. in the Miller-Weaver Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo. Rev. Mutt Wallace will officiate.
    Burial will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery. The Miller-Weaver Funeral Home of Hugo is in charge of arrangements.


VINNIE BODLEY

    Graveside services for Hugo resident Vinnie Wheeler Bodley, 56, will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Spencerville Cemetery.
    She died Saturday at Choctaw Memorial Hospital. Richard Harris will officiate during the Wednesday morning service.
    A member of the Church of God, she was born Oct. 11, 1932 at Courtly Flat, Okla., the daughter of Ivy and Ethel Barton.
    Survivors include four sons: Richard Glen Wheeler of Valliant, Roy Don Wheeler of Hugo, Bobby Wayne Wheeler of Hugo and Joseph Franklin Bodley of Hugo.
    She is also survived by three daughters, Elwonda Faye Myers of Azle, Texas, and Peggy Lynn Landreth and Martha Gail Hensley, both of Hugo; three sisters, Lena Smith of Cooper, Texas and Oleoma and Mildred, both of Dallas, 
Texas; and 12 grandchildren.
    The Lampton-Mills and Coffey Funeral Home of Hugo is in charge of arrangements.


LOUISE WHEELER

    Services for Louise Wheeler will be at the Miller & Miller Funeral Chapel, on Tuesday, March 5, 2002 at 2:00 p.m., followed by the interment at Spencerville Cemetery in Spencerville, Okla.
    Louise Wheeler (67) died in Paris, Texas on March 3, 2002.
    Mrs. Wheeler was born Sept. 14, 1934 in Rattan, Okla., the daughter of John F. Gaylor and Georgia M. (Bottoms) Gaylor and had lived all of her life in the Spencerville area. She married J. W. Wheeler on Jan. 31, 1950 at Apple, 
Okla.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons: Dennis Wendel Wheeler and James Dwight "Jimmy" Wheeler; and one grandson, Brad Wheeler.
    The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Monday, at the Miller & Miller Funeral Home of Hugo.
    Mrs. Wheeler is survived in death by her husband, J. W. Wheeler of the home; two sons and their families: Danny Wheeler and his wife, JoAnn of Willspoint, Texas, and their two daughters: Tabbi and Racheal; Carl Randall Wheeler and his wife, Shelley of Spencerville, Okla. and their two sons: Justin and Ethan; three daughters and their families: Linda Skipper and her husband, Earl of Spencerville, Okla.; leaving five grandsons: Roy, Shawn, and Trey Harvey, and Billy and Johnathan Skipper; and three granddaughters: Samantha, Becky and Latisha Skipper; Mary Pierce and her husband, Wayne of Spencerville, and children Joshua Mitchell and Callie and Riki Pierce; and Sandy Barcheers and her husband, Billy Buck of Sawyer, Okla. and children Alex Pierce, Cody Barcheers and Gary Guthrie; one brother, Roy Gaylor of Wright City, Okla.; one daughter-in-law, Judy Wheeler of Sobol, Okla.; five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews along with numerous other relatives and friends.
    Bro. Mutt Wallace will be officiating the services under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home of Hugo.


SHIRLEY ANN BAGGS

    Mrs. Shirley Ann Baggs, 34, Mesquite, Tex., died October 14 in the M. D. Anderson Hospital, Houston, Tex.
    Mrs. Baggs was a member of the Edgeville Church of Christ in Dallas, Tex. She was born June 25, 1943 in Alex, Okla.
    Surviving relatives include: a husband, son, daughter and sister, all from Mesquite, Tex. Their names are Cecil Baggs, husband; Robert Baggs, son; Christine Baggs, daughter; and Mrs. Aileen Keylon, sister.
    Parents of the deceased are Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Thompson, Hugo, Okla., Mrs. Baggs grandparent are Mrs. Leta Crew, Hugo, Okla. and Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Conder, Alex, Okla.
    Funeral arrangements are pending and will be under the direction of Coffey Funeral Home.

    Mrs. Shirley Ann Baggs, 34, of Mesquite, Texas died Friday in M. D. Anderson Hospital, Houston, Texas.
    Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon in the Coffey Chapel. Mr. David Mahoney and Mr. Clifton Rogers officiated.
    Burial was in Springs Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Coffey Funeral Home.
    Mrs. Baggs was a member of the Edgeville Church of Christ in Dallas.
    She is survived by her husband, Cecil Baggs of Mesquite; a son, Robert Baggs and a daughter, Christine Baggs, both of Mesquite; a sister, Aileen Keylon of Mesquite; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Thompson of Hugo; and her grandparents: Mrs. Leta Crews, Hugo and Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Conder, Alex, Okla.


CECIL THOMPSON

    Funeral services for Cecil Thompson were held on Tuesday, February 22, at 2:00 p.m. at the Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel.
    Mr. Thompson died on February 19 at the age of 85.
    Mr. Thompson was born August 24, 1908 in Hugo, Oklahoma to John Wesley and Lela Elizabeth (Thorpe) Thompson. He married Genneva Christine Conder in Chickasha, Oklahoma in 1940. He was a retired security guard and a member of the Church of Christ.
    He was preceded in death by an infant son, Cecil Wesley Thompson in 1948 and by a daughter, Shirley Baggs in 1977.
    Surviving relatives include his wife: Genneva Thompson of the home in Hugo; a daughter: Aileen Keylon of Denton, Texas; three brothers: A. V. Crews of Hugo, Oliver Crews of Dallas, Texas and E. D. Crews of Redondo Beach, 
California; two sisters: Aileen McKinzie of Hugo and Mildred Standridge of Hugo; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
    Reverend Mutt Wallace officiated the services with burial following in Springs Chapel under the direction of Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home.


GENNEVA CHRISTINE THOMPSON

    Funeral services for Genneva Christine Thompson, 73, formerly of Hugo will be held 2 p.m, Friday, March 27, at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Chapel. Rev. Mutt Wallace will officiate.
    Burial will follow in the Springs Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey of Hugo.
    Mrs. Thompson passed away March 24, 1998 in a Denton, Texas hospital.
    Genneva Christine Thompson was born July 31, 1924 in Cloudy to Milton L. and Rebecca (Wheeler) Conder. She married Cecil C. Thompson on August 19, 1940 in Alex. Genneva had lived in the Hugo are most of her life. She relocated to Denton three years ago to be near her daughter.
    She was a homemaker and had been active in the Rebecca Lodge for a number of years. She was also a member of the First Methodist Church in Denton, Texas.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Thompson in 1994; a daughter, Shirley Baggs; a son, Cecil Wesley Thompson; and two sisters and her parents.
    Surviving relatives include one daughter, Aileen Keylon of Sanger, Texas; four brothers: Charles Conder of Blanchard, Bill Conder of Alex, Isaac Conder of Petersburg, Va. and Haskell Conder; and five grandchildren and 
four great-grandchildren.


Roy Junior Wheeler

    Roy Junior Wheeler, 55, resident of Hugo, passed away Monday December 9, 1996 at Choctaw Memorial Hospital. He was of the Holiness faith.
    Roy was born September 8, 1941 in Messer, to Johnny B. & Effie Mae (Lee) Wheeler. He married Norma Jean Hill on May 10, 1968 in Oklahoma City and had lived in the Hugo area all of his life. He was preceded in death by his 
brother, Glen Wheeler.
    Surviving relatives include his wife, Norma, of the home; five sons, Roy Dean Wheeler of Hugo, Steven Wayne Cooksey of Konawa, OK, Billy Gene Cooksey, Timothy Leon Cooksey and Roger Dale Cooksey, all of the home; four brothers: Cecil Wheeler of Levelland, TX, Dewey Wheeler of Rattan, Frankie Wheeler of Messer and James Wheeler of Apple; two sisters: Margie Pullam of Gerber, CA and Aline Langley of Manchester, TX.
    Services for Mr. Wheeler are being held Wednesday December 11, 1996 at 3:30 p.m. in Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel. Interment will be in Springs Chapel Cemetery of Hugo.


Dewey W. Wheeler

DEWEY W. WHEELER

    Dewey W. Wheeler, 77, resident of Hugo, Okla. passed away Friday, August 11, 2000 at the Baptist Retirement Center of Hugo, in Hugo, Okla.
    Mr. Wheeler was born February 1, 1923 in Grant, Okla., the son of Johnny B. Wheeler and Effie (Lee) Wheeler and had lived in the Hugo area for approximately 28 years.
    He was a World War II Army Veteran and oil field worker, a member of the VFW and of the Church of God faith.
    He was preceded in death by two brothers, Glen Wheeler and Roy Wheeler.
    Surviving relatives include his wife, Alice (Burton) Wheeler; one daughter Barbara Hutchings of Hugo, Okla.; two sons, Jerry Wheeler of Rattan, Okla. and Donnie Wheeler of Pottsboro, Texas; three brothers: James W. Wheeler of 
Spencerville, Okla., and Frankie Wheeler of Messer, Okla.; two sisters: Margie Pulliam of California and Aileen Langley of Paris, Texas; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. at Miller & Miller Funeral Chapel in Hugo, Okla. Reverend Vernon Babcock will officiate. Interment will be in Springs Chapel Cemetery, Hugo, Okla.
    The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 14, 2000 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home of Hugo, Okla. Miller & Miller Funeral Home of Hugo, Okla. in charge of arrangements.
