Billie Kay (Stinson) Bishop

    Billie Kay Bishop, 70, of White City, died Sunday (April 27, 2003) at her home. No service is planned. Inurnment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery.
    Memorial contributions may be made to the Rogue Valley Medical Center Foundation, Hospice, 2600 Siskiyou Blvd., Suite 100, Medford, OR 97504, or the Southern Oregon Humane Society, 2910 Table Rock Road, Medford, OR 97501.
    She was born April 10, 1933, in Boswell, Okla., to William and Katherine (Holloway) Stinson. She grew up in the Southwest.
    On Aug. 18, 1949, in Las Cruces, N.M., she married Charles "Pete" Bishop, who died in 2002. They moved to the Rogue Valley in 1973 from California.
    Mrs. Bishop received her nursing license in Texas in 1968. She worked as a nurse in various locations including Rogue Valley Manor, Crater General and Three Fountains. She would later become certified as a saw filer and worked at MedCo Lumber for a number of years.
    She attended Trail Christian Fellowship periodically and was a member of the Friends for Friends Club.
    Mrs. Bishop enjoyed camping, animals, crocheting, reading and doing crossword puzzles.
    Survivors include two daughters, Charyl Ray, Medford, and Bobbie Paquette, Belfair, Wash.; a son, William, Rogue River; a sister, Sylvie Young, Yuma, Ariz.; and eight grandchildren.
    Arrangements: Rogue Valley Funeral Alternatives and Crematory.


Milton Medcalf Jr.

    The graveside memorial service for C. Milton "Milt" Medcalf Jr. will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Siskiyou Memorial Park, Medford. The Rev. John Dungey of Central Point will officiate.
    Mr. Medcalf, 80, of Conway Spring, Kan., formerly of Medford, died Feb. 9, 2002, at Spring View Manor in Conway Springs, Kan.
    He was born Jan. 21, 1922, in Hugo, Okla., a son of Cicero M. and Bertha Jane (Winkler) Medcalf Sr.
    He moved to the Rogue Valley after serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II. On Jan. 25, 1953, he married Audrey June Fletcher, who died in 1983. They lived in the Rogue Valley until 1978.
    Mr. Medcalf was a salesman for Valley Wholesale Company in Medford. After retiring, the family moved in 1978 to Lake Tahoe, Calif., where he and his wife studied to become real estate agents, which they did for five years. In 1983, they moved to Rocklin, Calif. He lived in Rocklin until 1995, when he moved to Harper, Kan., to be near his daughter, Gail Swafford.
    Survivors include three daughters, Diane Lewis, Salem, Linda Rich, Sacramento, Calif., and Gail Swafford, Harper, Kan.; a brother, Ben, Gurdon, Ark.; a sister, Juanita Council, Marshall, Texas; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Victor and Mote; and two sisters, Byrda Rondoni and Audra Williams.
    Arrangements: Perl Funeral Home, Medford.
