Thomas A. Dickson died at Paris
The Husonian August 22, 1912
Another of Grant's most prominent citizens called from life
Saturday morning
had been citizen for years and prominent in affairs of Choctaw County all of
that time
Thomas A. Dickson, one of the best known residents of Grant, died at the Akin hospital at Paris Saturday morning at 11 o'clock, after an illness that had endured since early in the year.
Deceased had been taken to Paris to ascertain if anything could be done for him, having just returned from Hot Springs, Ark., where it was found his condition was not improving.
Mr. Dickson was taken ill in April last, and for some weeks his condition was considered precarious, but he rallied, and at the time of death none of relatives or friends surmised that he was so close to the door of death.
Thomas A. Dickson was a brother of Joel Lather Dickson of this city. He had been a resident of Grant for years, and was a lawyer, although of late years he did little at the bar, having a large farm and being interested in the development of his place. He was married five or 6 years ago to Mrs. Ables, widow of Dr. Ables, and has two children as the result of that union. He was a native of near Reuble, Mo., where his father and mother and several brothers and sisters reside, another brother residing at Amarillo, Texas. He was [unreadable] years of age, and had spent the better portion of his maturity in what is now Oklahoma, formerly Indian Territory.
Mr. Dickson was superintendent of the Sunday schools at Grant, and a member of many secret orders. Few men were better known in Choctaw county, and none stood higher in the scale of citizenship.
Interment will be made at Grant, the family at this time awaiting word from Missouri in order to set the hour, which will probably be Sunday afternoon.
Judge Dickson of this city left at noon for Paris to accompany the remains of his brother to Grant, where interment is to be made.
