Viola (McLemore) Browning

Funeral services for Mrs. Viola Browning, wife of Robert Browning, was held at 3 p.m. Thursday August 4, at the Clayton Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. J.B. Ward officiating and all funeral arrangements under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Browning died at Bakersfield, California during the latter part of July. She moved to Bakersfield from Hugo during February with her family. She was forty three years old at the time of her death.
She formally lived on a farm in the Rock Hill community and was a leader in both civic and church affairs in both Rock Hill and Hugo.
Mrs. Browning is survived by her husband and six children: Carl, age 15; Jack, age 14; Bonnie, age 13; Charlie, age 12; James, age 7, and Geraldine, age 6.
She is also survived by a brother George McLemore, San Antonio, Texas, and three sisters; Mrs. Edith Stokes, Mrs. Edna Everidge, both of Hugo, and Mrs. Elmer Henson, Bakersfield, Calif.
Pall bearers was Horace Minchew, Lester Minchew, Ernest Henson, Jimmie Cooper, Wallace Lester, and Morris Parker.
The News joins with the many friends of the deceased in expressing condolence to her relatives.
