Iona Akins

Funeral services for Iona Akins of Hugo will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Roscoe Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Crosley Cemetery. Iona died December 2, 2005, at Paris Regional Medical Center, at the age of 87. Iona was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

Surviving relatives: Stepmother, Nonzell Harrington of Muskogee; two stepdaughters, Ruby Grant of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and Mildread Akins of Tyler, Texas; three brothers, J.P. Harrington of Grant, Bernard Harrington of Los Angeles, Edison Harrington of Ottawa, Canada; one sister, Ester Ray King of Muskogee; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
