Jimmie Lee Dodson

Jimmie Lee Dodson, 74, of Paris, Texas, passed away Monday, Dec. 12, 2005, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Services were scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Fortenberry officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Gardens. The family received friends from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Dodson, the daughter of William Calvin & Margaret Estelle Ferguson Judkins, was born Dec. 23, 1930, in Arthur City, Texas. She married James Neely Dodson, Sr., on Nov. 4, 1950. He preceded her in death on June 16, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter-in-law, Mrs. James Neely Dodson, Jr. (Debbie) on March 8, 2005, and by a sister, Helen “Doodle” Green. She was a member of East Paris Baptist Church where she was active in her Sunday school class and Bible study. She worked a number of years as a bookkeeper for Fuller Furniture and also baked, decorated and sold cakes from her home.
Survivors include two sons, James Neely Dodson, Jr. of Pittsburg, Texas, and Stewart Dodson & wife Debbie of Reno, Texas; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews along with a host of friends and her special caregiver, Stacy Jones.
Casket bearers were: Brad Holley, Raymond Nixon, Mark Easlon, Neil Belt, Ron Cox and Clay Cody.
