Burdene “Granny” Sanford

Graveside services for Burdene “Granny” Sanford of Valliant were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 17, 2005, in Valliant Cemetery with Bro. Troy Ruffin officiating.
Mrs. Sanford died December 14, 2005, at her home. She was 94. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
She was born May 29, 1911 in Nevada County, Arkansas the daughter of H.L. and Inez (Foster) Belk and had lived in the Valliant area since 1951. Mrs. Sanford enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading and especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lawrence A. Sanford, two sons, Glen Sanford and Jerry Sanford, seven brothers and sisters.
SURVIVING RELATIVES: two sons: Charles Sanford and Bob Sanford, both of Valliant; one daughter, Patricia Kreuscher of Waukegan, Illinois; one sister, Winnie Ziegler of Illinois, 10 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren and nurse, Mary Cogburn, along with many other relatives and friends.
