Fred Corbin, Jr.

Fred Corbin, Jr., of Fort Towson, passed away on December 26, 2005 in Hugo at the age of 81.He was born on June 18, 1924 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Fred and Marie (Clarkson) Corbin. He married Ruth Bannister on January 29, 1948 in New Vernon, Ind. He had lived in this area for the past 12 years after moving here from Island Grove, Fla. and had worked as a television technician. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the New Beginnings Church in Fort Towson. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.
Fred is survived by his wife Ruth of the home; one son Gary Corbin of Fort Towson; one brother Ken Corbin of Northverion, Ind.; three sisters, Lou Thompson of Hanover, Ind., Mary Lou Wilkerson of Island Grove, Fla. and Jean Bannister of Ocala, Fla.; six grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Fred Corbin, Jr., will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 29, 2005, at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Thornburg officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Towson Cemetery.
