Bertha Lorene Hembrough

Funeral services for Bertha Lorene Hembrough of Hugo were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2005, at Mt. Olive Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug McClure officiating. Interment was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Mrs. Hembrough died Tuesday, December 20, 2005, at Choctaw Memorial Hospital. She was 85.

Bertha Lorene Hembrough was born November 19, 1920 in Marshall County, Alabama, the daughter of Harry R. Clark and Lenora Bell (Clay) Clark. She worked in Alabama, Florida and California for 18 years. She moved to this area in 1947 and lived in Soper for a short time while caring for her parents. She was preceded in death by four brothers and one great-granddaughter, “Kaitlynn.

Surviving relatives: Son, Charles Pence of Hugo; daughter, Linda Lee Eagleberger of Stringtown; sister, Opal Jean Melton of Miami, Okla.; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.

The family received friends Wednesday, December 21, 2005, at the Mt. Olive Funeral Home Chapel.
