Woodrow Burns

Graveside services for Woodrow Burns of Ringold were held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2005, in Old Ringold Cemetery.
Mr. Burns died Monday, December 26, 2005, at Paris Regional Medical Center in Paris, Texas. He was 79.Woodrow Burns was born December 20, 1926 in Ardmore, the son of Wiley & Effie Belle (Faulkner) Burns. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Bessie Mae Marks on October 11, 1952 in Texas. Woodrow worked as a mobile home mover for 19 years and retired from an oil field tool manufacturing company in 1992. Following retirement in Midwest City he moved to the Ringold area. He was a fan of westerns and John Wayne was his favorite western actor. He was preceded in death by one son: Woodrow Burns, Jr.; one grandson: Woodrow Daniel Burns; and one brother: Joe T. Burns.
Surviving relatives: Wife, Bessie Burns of the home; three sons, David Burns of Choctaw, Floyd Burns of Ringold, Mark Burns of Newalla; two daughters, Beth Curlee of O’Fallon, Ill., and Dawn Lambert of Moore; 18 grandchildren; 16 ( and three-quarters) great-grandchildren.
