Funeral services for Gerthia Mae Fort of Hugo were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hugo Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Dewberry officiating. Interment was in Speer Cemetery.

Mrs. Fort died December 29, 2005 in Kansas City, Kansas. She was 78. She was a member of Jamison Chapel CME Church.

Surviving relatives: One daughter, Doris Betts of Kansas City, Kansas; four sisters, Eva Collier and Caldonia Burch of Boswell, Ollie V. Fort of Hugo, Margaret Guess of Kansas City, Kansas; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
