Leeler Mae Howerton Roden

Leeler Mae Howerton “Lee” Roden passed away December 24, 2005 at the age of 90 years.

She was born November 27, 1915 in Kirby, Arkansas to Walter Howerton and Earlie Pasley Howerton. She was married to Charley “Jack” Roden on November 16, 1935 in Waurika, Oklahoma. She was a long time resident of Hugo and a faithful member of the Sawyer Full Gospel Church. She passed away while visiting her daughter Savanna in Del City, Oklahoma.

Mrs. Roden had six children - Curtis Roden of Bakersfield, Calif., Arvil Roden (deceased), Elton Roden of Hugo, Dale Roden of Sawyer, Lonnie Roden of Donaldson, Ark., and Savanna Jordan of Del City, Okla. Mrs. Roden had 19 grandchildren - Micahel, Toni, Mark, Roger, Claude (deceased), Cynthia, Johnnie, Joel, Gary, Lynette, Scott, Susan, Shawn, Mark, Teressa, Anthony, Steven, Jack, and Adam. She is also survived by 29 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Arvil, her husband Jack and her grandson Claude Roden.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2005 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery Pavilion. She was laid to rest by her husband Jack after 25 years of being apart. We will miss you and love you forever. Rest in peace Baby Gal.
