Thomas W. Hawks

Graveside services for Thomas W. Hawks of Paris, Texas, were held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2006 in Memory Gardens Memorial Park in McAlester.

Mr. Hawks died Wednesday, January 11, 2006, at Lane Frost Health & Rehabilitation Center in Hugo. He was 81.Thomas W. Hawks was born April 2, 1924 in Bokchito, the son of Sid & Oma Lee (Duvall) Hawks. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He graduated from Southeastern University in Durant and then graduated from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tenn. He practiced as an optometrist in Antlers, Wilburton and McAlester from 1954 until his retirement in 1995 when he moved to Paris, Texas. He was preceded in death by one brother, Roy Morris Hawks; and one infant sister.

Surviving relatives: Son, Ronald P. Hawks of Montgomery, Texas; step-sister, Gertrude Reinhart of Bokchito.
