Audrey Elizabeth Post

Audrey Elizabeth Post of Fort Towson, Okla., passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2006 in Hugo at the age of 79. She was born on October 15, 1926 in Mount Vernon, Texas, to Joseph Dewitt and Donie Pearl (Bennett) Murray. She married Robert V. Post on July 11, 1945 in Dallas, Texas. She had lived in this area for the past 35 years after moving here from De Kalb, Texas. She was a member of the New beginning Baptist Church in Fort Towson and had worked as a charge nurse for the Baptist Retirement Center. She loved her family very much and will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert V. Post, three brothers and one sister. Audrey is survived by four sons, Robert V. Post, Jr., and wife Julie of Little Rock, Ark., Leslie M. Post and wife Debbie of Millerton, Okla., Anthony Stuart Post and wife Renee of Blue Water, N.M. and Charles Joseph Post of Lake Tawakoni, Texas; four daughters, Audrey Elizabeth Smith and husband Hal of Winchester, Va., Pamela Susan Marak and husband Bill of Little Rock, Ark., Melicent Roseanne Johnson of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Jennifer Lynn Anderson and husband Craig of University Place, Wash.; three sisters, Marion Vail of Pickton, Texas, Virginia England of Denison, Texas and Doris Ritchey of Bardstown, Ky.; 19 grandchildren, Dede Lowe, Aaron Post, Corri Bristow, Robert Post III, Travis Fleming, Aimee Watson, Hardy Post, Bradley Post, Marsh Smith, Jason Bristow, Jonathan Bristow, Natalie Wheeler, David Anderson, Will Post, Anna Anderson, Canon Post, Thomas Post, Wesley Anderson and Hailey Post; seven great-grandchildren, Ethan Patterson, Colby Post, Jacob Fleming, Cole Fleming, Reagan Fleming, Jack Lowe and Olivia Bristow.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2006 at New Beginning Baptist Church in Fort Towson with Reverend Dick McClure officiating. Interment was in Pine Forest Cemetery in Hopkins County, Texas, at 2 p.m. January 14, 2006.
The family received friends Friday, January 13, 2006 at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Beginning Baptist Church building fund in Fort Towson, Okla.
