Faye P. (Cornelison) Maxey

Faye P. Maxey, 86, of Amarillo died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with Robert Field, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.

Mrs. Maxey was born Nov. 10, 1919, in Hugo, Okla., to Cicero and Sue Evelyn Cornelison. She married Louis Edward Maxey in 1938 in Hugo. They moved to Amarillo in 1941 and had been married 37 years when he died in 1975. She was a longtime member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and a lifelong member of the Choctaw Nation.

Survivors include three sons, Glenn Maxey, Mark Maxey and Douglas Maxey and wife, Laveta, all of Amarillo; three daughters, Margie Kerek and husband, Jim, and Barbara Carl and husband, Joe, all of Amarillo, and Jerry McKinney and husband, Randy, of Red Oak, Okla.; a sister, Bobbie Johnson of Hugo; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
