Funeral services for Claudell Laverne Leatherwood of Hugo were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jerry Cooper officiating. Interment was in Springs Chapel Cemetery in Hugo.

Claudell Laverne Leatherwood passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2006 in Hugo at the age of 91. She was born on April 4, 1914 in Cross Plains, Texas to Harold Jhonce and Winnie (Banner) Rollins. She married Floyd Leatherwood in Lovington, N.M. in 1953. She had lived in this area for eleven years after moving here from Snyder, Texas. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Floyd in 1978, one son, Archie D. Holman, one sister and two brothers.

Claudell is survived by one son, Robert M. Holman of Rising Star, Texas; three daughters, Alice J. Lindsey of Hugo, Yvonne Underwood of Jourdanton, Texas and Carolyn Moore of Mansfield, Texas; three sisters, Arleta Lovelady, Annabell Goss and Christine Hoyle all of Snyder, Texas; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

The family received friends Monday, February 20, 2006 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel.
