U.V. Clinton Daniel

Clinton U.V. Daniel of Cloudy was born March 21, 1921 in Farris, Okla., to the late Jim and Amanda Daniel. U.V. passed from this life on March 3, 2006 in Talihina at the age of 85.U.V. married Jean Baker on December 21, 1946. They had four children: La Verne Daniel of Kansas, Allen Daniel of Cloudy, Cynthia Daniel Teague of Tioga, Texas and Gary Daniel of Clayton, and two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
U.V. was in the 843rd Signal Battalion where he was a T4, Buck Sergeant with a technical rating from 1942-45.He was employed by Southwestern Bell from November 1946 to retirement in 1976. He started with Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company 1946 and 1950 transferred to Wichita Falls, Texas to Southwestern Bell where he retired from Paris, Texas office in 1976. A member of the Southwestern Bell Pioneer Club, 2nd Vice President in Charge of Community Affairs, and a volunteer who helped build the Rattan Senior Center. He attended the Rattan First Baptist Church from 1985 to present. He was an election worker in the Cloudy precinct in the 1980s. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Amanda Daniel, wife, Jean, brothers, Dale and Felix and one sister, Lillie Mae.
Services will be held Friday, March 10, 2006 at the Talihina Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. with Rev. Winston Graham officiating. Interment will follow at the Rattan Cemetery under the direction of Talihina Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Mark Baze, Howard Boyett, Aaron Dickson, Bobby Dunlap, Larry Posey and Jimmy Teague.
