Sophia Emelia Jordan

Funeral services for Sophia Emelia Jordan of Millerton were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Valliant with Bro. Kenneth Wayne White and Sister Zelpha Boyd officiating. Interment will be in Altus Cemetery - Altus, Okla.
Mrs. Jordan died March 5, 2006, in Millerton, She was 95. She was a member of Swink Full Gospel Church.
She was born June 20, 1910 in Hedrick, Okla., the daughter of Martin and Ora Lee (Scarbrough) Neher and had lived in the Millerton area for the past 19 years where she moved after living in Altus most of her life. She married Frank Jordan on December 23, 1928 in Tipton, Okla. He preceded her in death 21 years to the day. Sophia loved going to church and singing “I’ll Fly Away” and “Just A Little Talk With Jesus”. She worked in the cotton fields as a bole puller then later worked for A & W Root Beer. She was a hard worker. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and 3 brothers; Martin Neher, Marcus Neher, Woodrow Neher.
SURVIVING RELATIVES: 1 brother; Barney Neher of Lamar, Mo., and 2 sisters; Beulah Mickel of Corinne, and Vernice Neher of Pueblo, Colo. along with numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
The family received friends Tuesday March 7, 2006 in the funeral home.
