Lester Bennett

Lester Bennett , 81, passed away July 23 at his home in Sawyer. Bennett was a retired tree trimmer and a member of the Baptist faith.

He was born December 22, 1915, in Hugo, the son of Daniel Louis Bennett and Laura Bell (Oakes) Bennett, and had lived most of his life in the Hugo area. Bennett did, however, live for a number of years in the Garland, Texas area.

Surviving relatives include one son, Charles Bennett of Dallas, Texas; two daughters - Thelma Pelton of Rowlett, Texas, and Vicky Faughtenberry of Irving, Texas; two sisters - Doris Goodwin of Hugo and Martha Bell Mays of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Mr. Bennett is also survived by his companion, Gladys Morris of Sawyer.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 26, at Miller & Miller Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Oakes family cemetery in Hugo.

The family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
