Services For Soper Man Are Pending
Funeral services for Thomas Clay (Jack) Oakes, 52, who lived on Route one, Soper, were pending today following his death Monday night at the Paris Sanitarium.
Bingham Funeral home is in charge of burial arrangements. Services will be held in the Soper Methodist church with John Dutro and Clarence Frances officiating. Burial will be in the Soper Cemetery.
Mr. Oakes was a stockman by trade, but also worked for four and one-half years for an oil company in Arabia.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Sudie Gardner Oakes; his mother, Mrs. Minnie Oakes, Soper; two sisters: Mrs. George Cobb, Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Illa J. Hardesty, Hobbs, N.M.: and three brothers, Joe B. Oakes, Lenmoore, Calif., Don K. Oakes, Soper, and D. W. Oakes, Bangor, Maine.
