Opal Corgill

Services for Opal Corgill were held Saturday, June 3, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the Sobol Baptist Church in Sobol, Okla.
Opal died Tuesday, May 30, 2006 in Broken Bow, Okla. She was 80.
Opal was born on August 23, 1925 in Woodville, Okla., to Trixie Bland and Myrtle (Watterson) Stokes. Opal married Houston Ray Corgill and had lived in this area all of her life. She had worked as a cook at the Rattan School and was a member of the Sobol Baptist Church. Opal was the first lady serving as honorary FFA member, and an honorary FFA member of the Rattan School.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Opal is survived by one son, Johnny Ray Corgill of Sobol; five daughters: Myrtle Sue Bonniger of Gaines, PA., Trixie Jane Smith of Harleton, Texas, Sandra Lee Carper of Wright City, Okla., Dianna Lynn Brazee of Opal, Wyo., and Martha Jean Boatmun of Bixby, Okla.; three brothers: Willie Stokes of Stradford, Okla., John Lloyd Stokes of Woodville, Okla., and Glen McCuan of Grand Prairie, Texas; three sisters, Myrtle Mae (Norris) Folsom, Kingston, Okla., Joni Case of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Joy Smith, of Newcastle, Okla.; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Reverend Sam Pound and Reverend Claud Butler officiated the service and burial was in the Fort Towson Cemetery in Fort Towson, Okla., under the direction of Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo.
