Maxine Edith (Nelson) Rhodes

Funeral services for Maxine Edith (Nelson) Rhodes of Hugo
were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at
Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with
Reverend Mike Bryant and Brother Dalias Dickson officiating.
Interment was in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo.

Maxine Rhodes passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2006 at
the age of 87. She was born on October 12, 1918 in
Glenwood, Ark. to Enoch S. and Winnie Nelson. She married
James N. Rhodes on March 12, 1938. Mrs. Rhodes lived in
this area most of her life. She was preceded in death by her
parents; her husband, James Noel (Jamie) Rhodes; her
brothers, Leonard and Johnny Nelson; and her son-in-law,
Danny Bailey.

Maxine is survived by four daughters, Oleta Dickson and
husband Dalias, Dorothy Cody and husband Kenneth,
Shirley Maxine Bryant and husband Leon, and Martha Bailey
all of Hugo; one son, J.N. Rhodes and wife Sharon of Hugo;
11 grandchildren: Kyle Dickson and wife Sherry of Paris,
Texas, Bobby Cody and wife Debbie of Hugo, Dr. Jami Sue
Webster and husband Clint of Salt Lake City, Utah, Barry
Bryant and wife Carolyn of Hugo, Mike Bryant and wife Oleta
of Hugo, Nancy Jackson of Durant, Daryl Bailey and wife Jan
of Carthage, Mo., Doug Bailey and wife Tambra of Durant,
Darren Bailey and wife Kelly of Valliant, Fieriel Raper and
husband Roger of Hugo, and James M. Rhodes and wife
Carla of Hugo; 27 great-grandchildren: Hunter, Mason,
Jeffrey, Brittnee and MacKenzie Dickson of Paris, Texas,
Lindsey, Crystal, Tyler and Wesley Cody of Hugo, Emma
and Olivia Webster of salt lake City, Utah, Colby,
Christopher, Ciera and Birch Bryant of Hugo, Britnee Jo,
Lexee Bo Jackson of Durant, Daniel Bailey, U.S. Marine
Corps, Georgia, Jacob and Rebekah Noel Bailey of Carthage,
Mo., Payton and Candace Bailey of Durant, Raelan and
Jaydan Bailey of Valliant, Kelsey and Kameron Raper of
Hugo, and Sameul Rhodes of Hugo; a brother, S.L. Nelson
and wife Elfie of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sisters, Dorothy
Flanagan of Grant and Theda Hawkins of Atlanta, Ga.
