Stephens “Steve” M. Walkup

Stephens “Steve” M. Walkup of Blanchard, Okla., died June
8, 2006 in Valliant. He was 75.
Mr. Walkup worked as a Supply Cataloger at Tinker Air
Force Base. He proudly served in the Navy during the Korean
War. He was of the Church of Christ faith.
Steve was born December 13, 1931 in Valliant, the son of
Frances Erwin Walkup and Lula (Martin) Walkup and grew
up in the Valliant area until 1971 when he moved to
Blanchard. He married Nora Jones on May 19, 1956 in
Millerton. They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary
this year. He liked to hunt and fish and enjoyed farming. He
also enjoyed spending time with Ma and with his children
and grandchildren. He was very proud of his family. He was
preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers; Carl,
Donald, and Stanley Walkup.
SURVIVING RELATIVES: his wife Nora Walkup of
Blanchard; three sons, Mark Steven Walkup of Bossier City,
La., Flint Edward Walkup of Conroe, Texas, and Faron
Wallen Walkup of Blanchard; two sisters, Dixie Parker of
Hugo and Ouieda Luna of Swink; five grandchildren and two
great grandchildren.
Memorial services to be held at a later date
Miller & Miller Funeral Home - Valliant.
