Rites Held Here Today For Bill Robison

Committal services for William H. (Bill) Robison, 72, a former Hugo and Paris, Tx., resident, were set for this afternoon at 2 o'clock in Mt. Olivet Cemetery here, burial being made by the Hammer Funeral Home, of DeKalb, Tex. Later in the afternoon, the family received friends at the home of Mrs. Essie Robinson South of Hugo.

Mr. Robison died Friday night at the home of his son, Billy D. Robison, who was reared here, in Dalby Springs, Tex. where he has lived since his wife, Mrs. Mae Robison, was admitted to a Paris, Tex., convalescent home.

In addition to the wife and son he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Ruth, of Ft. Smith, Ark., six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

During Mr. Robison's long residence here he was a salesman for Hale - Halsell Wholesale Grocery. The mother of his children, Mrs. Etha Robison, died here a number of years ago after an automobile accident.

Transcriber notes: William Henry Robison's wife was the former Miss Etha May Spring daughter of Louis McIntosh and Lillie Oakes Spring. She is the grand-daughter of John & Nancy McCoy Spring, and Lemuel Wellington & Lucy Elizabeth Smith Oakes. Essie Robison is the former Miss. Essie Marie Spring sister of Etha May Spring Robison. Essie married George Washington Robison which was one of the brothers of William Henry Robison.

Additional notes by Jeff Robison: In reference to the transcriber's notes in the obituary of William H. Robison JoLynn has George Washington Robison as the brother of William. George was William's 1st cousin. They did in fact marry the sisters Etha and Essie Spring. William Henry Robison was the son of Daniel Archie and Nancy Ann Morris Robison. George W. Robison was the son of Henry Jefferson and Martha Ann Riddle Robison. Daniel and Henry were brothers. William Henry Robison did have 1 brother who died at age 21 in Choctaw Co. His name was Lee Jasper Robison. He had 2 sisters. Anna Elizabeth Robison McWaters and Delanie Isabell Robison Sherrer. William's nephew Bennett Lee Sherrer has Sherrer's restaurant in Hugo.
