Hugoan’s Father Is Killed In Accident

The father of a Hugo school teacher was killed Friday when a motor crane backed over him at a construction site near Okay.

William A. Beadell, 60, of Wagoner was dead on arrival at a Muskogee hospital.

He was the father of Mrs. Melvin Endicott, music teacher at Hugo junior high school. She left immediately for Wagoner after learning of the accident.

Mr. Beadell was an employee of the Stanley Barber Construction Company of Fort Smith, Ark.

He had been working on the relocation of State Highway 16 at the Verdigris River bridge near Okay.

Mr. Beadell formerly lived in Hugo when he worked for the Waldron Construction Company, sub-contractor for the bridges for the Indian Nation Turnpike by-pass.

Services will be at Fort Scott, Kan., with Cheney Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

In addition to his daughter in Hugo he is survived by his wife, Lorena; another daughter, Marguirita of the home; a sister, Mrs. Juanita Bolan of Fort Scott; two brothers, Albert of Fort Scott and Donald of California, and two grandchildren.
