Soper Man Drops Dead in Cotton Field

A report reached Hugo today that Mick Jones had dropped dead while chopping cotton on a farm three miles south of Soper.

According to the story, Mr. Jones had eaten a hearty dinner and had returned to his work and had only worked a few minutes when he complained of being “dizzy” and turning blind. Before help could reach him, he had expired.

The report stated that he had three brothers in Soper, but the report could neither be affirmed nor denied. It was not known what funeral home had the body, since none of the four in Hugo knew of the incident.
