Oscar Ribera The Hugo Daily News – January 12, 1970 Transcribed by Ron Henson Oscar Ribera Dies Sunday Of Heart Attack Oscar Ribera, 53 year old World War II veteran and butcher living at Boswell, died early this morning in Memorial Hospital after suffering a heart attack Sunday afternoon. Coffey Funeral Home here will announce service arrangements. Born June 6, 1916, at Forney, west of Hugo, Mr. Ribera had lived most of his life in the Boswell area. He is survived by his wife, Opal; two sons and a daughter, Ralph Ribera, Los Angeles, Calif.; Prentice Ribera, Phoenix, Ariz.; and Mrs. Patricia Hull, Plano, Tex. Three grandchildren also survive with one sister, Mrs. Mary Darnell, of Poteau; and three brothers, Marcus Ribera, Boswell; Vernon Ribera and Martin Ribera, Compton, Calif.; and Henry Ribera, Los Angeles. Ribera Rites Set Wednesday The Hugo Daily News – January 13, 1970 Services for Oscar Ribera, 53, will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the Boswell Baptist Church with Elder Staddard of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery. Coffey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
