Maudie Tuel Williams Obituary

Maudie Tuel WiILLIAMS, a long-time resident of Burkburnett, died in Carmichael, Calif., on May 30, 2001, at age 97. She suffered a stroke in February leading to her death.
Mrs. WiILLIAMS was born in Cotton County, Okla., in 1904. She and Leslie TUEL were married in 1921. He preceded her in death in 1964. They had two children, Colonel Houston TUEL born in 1922 and Rex TUEL born in 1927. In 1968, she and Roy WiILLIAMS of Devol, Okla., were married. He preceded her in death in 1984. Mrs. WiILLIAMS lived most of her adult life in Burkburnett. She and her first husband, Leslie, built the Ranchouse Motel in the early 1950s and operated it for many years, along with other business activities. For several years she taught Sunday School at the First Methodist Church in Burkburnett. She was also preceded in death by a son, Rex TUEL in 1986. In 1987, Mrs. WiILLIAMS moved to California to be near her only surviving son, Houston.
Survivors include Houston of Sacramento, Calif.; nine grand children; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
At her request, her body was donated to the medical school at the University
of California at Davis.
