Isaac Newton WILLIAMS 5/1/1893   307

Query posted by Cole, Heidi Williams on April 04, 2001 for , WILLIAMS, RIFFLE

I'm looking for help/suggestions to find info on Isaac Newton WILLIAMS b. 5/1/1893 in Bluejacket, craig co., OK. Son of Thomas Luther WILLIAMS and Louise Addeline RIFFLE. Isaac was the only sibling born there and they didn't stay long. They came from WV and moved to AR after 'passing through' OK. Is there any resources I could utilize to find out more info about Isaac and his family?
Thanks for any information at all!

Is the Eastern OK State Mental Institution still in operation today? Does any one have information on obtaining records?

Would this have been a place where a person with polio might have been treated in the 1930's?

Thanks

Sarah Ann Chadwick Harris, Dekalb Co., AL   353

Query posted by Verenice on April 21, 2001 for HARRIS

I have been told that my g-g-grandmother Sarah Ann Chadwick Harris died in Vinita, OK (Craig Co. OK) on June 2, 1933, possible in a hospital or nursing home. Her husband was Walker Glyn Harris, but I don't think he made in to OK. The family left Dekalb Co., AL in the late 1890's, I believe. Some settled in Arkansas and some in Oklahoma. At one time they may have lived in Spiro, OK. I would love to make contact with any of her descendents. A few years ago I corresponded with one of her grandsons, Foyil Harris, but he died shortly after that. My g-g-grandmother's children were Mary Virginia (Jenny, my g-grandmother, married a Hawkins), William E., Martha M.,(married a Lowery), Parley Frimon, Harvey Walker Edward Marvin, Martin Luther, Dora Ann, Thomas Byson, Scott Alexander and Raymond Jackson
