Many thanks for your trouble in sending me info. on J C Wilkinson - this is most interesing especially as someone else has given me the date of his burial in Fairview Cemetery as February 1916.
Do you have any ideas what the "G.A.R." stands for after J.C.Wilkinson in the snippet you have given me about Fairview Cemetery?

Very many thanks for finding this info. for me.

Here he is in 1930: 1930 Mayes Coo. Oklahoma Census; Source Citation: Year: 1930; Census Place: River, Mayes, Oklahoma; Roll: 1913; Page: 2B; Enumeration District: 19; Image: 1059.0. For some reason the name of the wife is blank.
I cannot find this family in the 1920 census.
Does anyone know his wife's name or have access to an obit?
Thank you. Karen

Obit Request: Commissioner Charles H. Mason, d. 1894 at Vinita. 1114A
|
Query posted by Stamper, Jesse on June 23, 2009
for , MASON, HUCKEBY
|
Could someone please look-up the obituary of Charles Holland MASON (1826-1894)? He was born August 9, 1826/7 in New Hampshire; and died in June 1894 at Vinita. In 1890, he was appointed by President Benjamin HARRISON to be a commissioner for the Indian Territory. He had previously lived in Perry County, Indiana. He was a widow at the time of his death; he had no children.
I have hit a brick wall in my maternal ancestry research and MASON'S obituary may offer some clues. MASON was a lawyer and apparently well-to-do. I imagine he left behind a lengthy obit.
I would gladly pay anyone to search for MASON'S obituary. I don't need a photocopy, text will be fine.
Sincerely, Jesse Stamper Leecorydon@juno.com
