James was in Hunt County, Texas, where he married C.A. on December 23, 1858.  The Wynnewood census of 1900 gives her name as Clara C..

On Clara's widow's application she gives her current address as Murray County, her post office as Davis.  She says he served in Co. H, Colonel Sweet's Regiment, First Cavalry, then later infantry.  The information listed at the beginning of this bio is taken from the Confederate Roster.
