Born April 1839 in DeKalb County, Alabama

Died November 7, 1927

John came to the Indian Territory in 1880. He settled in this area sometime before 1910 moving just east of Wynnewood in Murray County at Iona

John was a farmer and a carpenter and also worked as a day laborer

His name was acquired for this list from an application made for the Cross of Honor. He is mentioned in the area newspapers of 1903 and in the 1910 census he lists his birthplace as Georgia and his occupation as 'day laborer". He lived east of Wynnewood in 1910
