His name for this this list, came from an old book of biographical sketches of people in the area about 1901. The sketch of N.B. Rabb told of his father-in-law passing away here in 1900.

There is a G.R.M. Harris on a list of voters in 1868 in Hunt County, Texas

He is listed in the 1880 census of Grayson County, Texas as G.D. Harris.

The 1st Battalion, Texas Sharpshooters was founded in 1862 in Grayson County, Texas.
