Born in 1849 in Tennessee

Died August 25, 1922 in Shawnee, Oklahoma

Buried at Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood and does not currently have a military marker.  Lot 2, Block 61

He married Marietta in Tennessee in 1882.   She is buried beside him at Oaklawn Cemetery.  She was born in 1861 in Tennessee.  Her tombstone does not show a date of death

They lived in Texas before moving to the Wynnewood area in 1898 or 1899, later settling in the Shawnee, Oklahoma area

James was the first Minister of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church from 1899 to 1905) after they acquired the building from the other Presbyterians in 1898
