I was born among the Indians.  I do not know what tribe of Indians they were.  We lived there until I was eleven years old.  Then we moved to Sunset, Texas.

I came to Oklahoma Territory in 1895 with my husband and two small children.  We settled near Paoli.  There wasn't very many houses then.  We raised cotton and corn and ricked corn like we rick wood.   There were no improvements of any kind.  We traveled in wagons and buggies.

We had a hard time as we didn't have much money.  Men worked for fifty cents a day, but groceries were cheap.  We raised everything we could.

I was left a widow with my two small children, made a living for myself and two children, until they were grown.  Now I live alone at Paoli, Oklahoma where I have lived since 1895.  I now draw the old age pension which helps me greatly.
