Obits for Bud & Millie

James Bud Rogers

Bud Rogers Passes away.

Funeral services for Mr. Bud Rogers, well known Wynnewood citizen, were
held at the family home Monday afternoon at 2:30. The services were in
charge of Rev. Roy Autry, paster of the local Baptist church. He was
assisted by Dr. G.D. Smith, Mrs. Watt Higgins, Mrs. J.A. Lawrence, Mrs.
Roy martin and Mrs. L Stribling who sang these numbers. Internment was
in Oaklawn cemetery. Funeral arrangements were in charge of C.F.
Coonrod who was assisted by Mrs. Besson.
Mr. Bud Rogers was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas December 14, 1863. He
died January 15, 1933 at the age of 69 years, one month and one day.
The end came quietly at his home in the presence of his loved ones.
Death followed a brief illness.

At the age of twenty-three, Mr. Rogers was married to Miss Millie Lee in
the Choctaw Nation. Mrs. Rogers, eight children and ten grandchildren
survive. He was a loving husband and father. His sunny disposition and
cheerful words won for him many friends. In early life the deceased
was converted and united with a Missionary Baptist Church.

Millie Lee Rogers:

Mrs. Millie Lee Rogers, (spelling of name was wrong), 71 years old, died
Tuesday after a brief illness which started with a spider bite.
Unconscious two days and nights she lay asleep when the end came.

An out of town minister officiated at funeral services held Tuesday
afternoon with interment at Oaklawn Cemetery.

Her Husband having preceded her in death 7 years, only her eight
children survive. They are B. Rogers, Mrs. Bertha Dryden, Mrs. Beulah
Brown, Mrs. Flo Hannon and Mrs. Charlie Henderson of the home address;
Jim Rogers, Shawnee and Mrs. Dollie Jackson, route 2, Stratford.

I'm not sure where the name of Jackson comes in for Dollie yet, as she
was buried with the last name of Lovelace and I don't think she remarried.

This is William Jordan Rogers, my great great grandfather.

This is Minnie Roberts Rogers who married William Jordan Rogers.
