Bert and E. Grant were both born in Newton County, Missouri.
This picture was probably taken around 1898-1900, most likely
in Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory. The family is in the 1900
census. Prior to coming to Indian Territory they lived in Newton
County, Missouri. Elsa (Elzey) and family lived at Lenapah, Nowata
County (after it became a state) for many years.
This picture was generously shared by a cousin, Carolyn Castleberry.
Her grandfather was Edward Calvin Gray.
